The 2nd High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation (BAPA+40) was convened in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, from March 20 to 22. More than 1,000 representatives from over 10 countries, including senior governmental officials, representatives of private sector and social organizations, attended the event. This conference symbolized a significant global move after the UN General Assembly passed the first global cooperation framework of South-South Cooperation in 1978. Meanwhile, it also acts as an important platform for China to promote the community of a shared future, build a new international relationship featuring mutual respect, fairness and justice, cooperation and win-win situation, actively develop global partnerships and participate in global economic governance.
With the support from BRSSCAL’s strategic partners, such as UNOSSC, FAO, WFP, FCSSC and IPRCC, China Agricultural University and University of Buenos Aires jointly held BAPA+40 seminar in the Law School of the latter on the afternoon of March 21. This conference invited nearly 20 representatives from 8 agricultural and forestry universities of China. Constructive dialogues on the South-South agricultural cooperation were extended, which delivered a clear voice from China.
During the BAPA+40, President Sun Qixin attended the Workshop on Promoting Global South-South Cooperation within BRSSCAL held by China Agricultural University in Buenos Aires. University leadership and heads in relevant departments from 9 Chinese agricultural universities attended the workshop, participating universities including Nanjing Agricultural University, Huazhong Agricultural University and etc.. Member universities exchanged views on the progresses and work experiences in the Belt and Road and South-South Cooperation.
